Forests are great. They are the home to the world’s biodiversity (80% of species live in forests), they help us to mitigate climate change by storing yearly 296 gigatonnes of carbon in both above- and below-ground biomass and are the safety net to 1.6 billion people worldwide whose livelihoods depend on forests.

Given my excitement on forests, I am a freelance consultant in international forestry with expertise in REDD+, emission reductions, political milestones, impact monitoring, forestry standards and voluntary and state carbon markets.

I have been working on the REDD Early Movers Programme (REM) with the following partners: the German Implementation Organisations GIZ and KfW, the German Development Ministry, the UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Norwegian Forest Initiative NICFI as well as the Colombian and Ecuadorian Ministry for Environment as well as the Brazilian States of Mato Grosso and Acre.
